I grew up as the daughter of a youth worker, and have been involved in leading groups since I was 16. I moved from South London down to Eastbourne on the sunny south coast to gain a degree, this is where I met my now husband and had both my boys.
I went on to train in Christian Youth Ministry and then did a year of teacher training. I taught PSHE and RE for 5 years at a local secondary school, specialising in the teaching of SRE and taking responsibility for the whole school’s PSHE curriculum. After having had my first baby I left teaching for schools ministry, initially at a local level, then working for SchoolsworkUK as the Lead Tutor for the Enable: Schools Level 3 qualification. One passion of mine is to see more Christians volunteering in their local schools to demonstrate the love of God to our children and young people. I am a regular contributor to Youth and Children’s Work Magazine, writing their schools work pages.
I’m excited about the Equip courses and their accessibility to all those working with children and young people. It’s great to be overseeing something with such potential to transform the lives of those who train as well as having a huge impact on the children and young people they work with and beyond that to the wider church community.
